SMALL IDOL: Chumquaxa civilization (2500 BC)*

THE STORY: This miniature idol, dated to 2500 BC, was found at the heart of the jungle in a stone house near the temple of Axotl in 1912. These smaller idols, homemade copies of the larger public ones found in the temple, are believed to have been the centrepiece of a family’s shrine to the gods. *May have made this up.
